PONDICHERRY MUSEUM
This multipurpose museum houses sculptures from Pallava, Chola and Vijayanagara temples. There are
Buddha images from Pondicherry/ Kirmampakkam and bronzes from the Chola,
Vijayanagara and Nayaka periods, arms and weapons. The displayed terracotta figures, shards of
Arretine and roulletted ware, amphorae, burial urns, glass beads have been excavated from the
surrounding historic environment.
