Chitrakoot

An important pilgrimage place for the Hindus dotted with innumerable temples and shrines. 

It was the abode of Lord Rama, his consort Sita and brother Lakshmana for eleven years when in exile. Also it is the divine spot which saw the incarnations of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.

How to reach: Nearest airport is Khajuraho (185 kms).The nearest railway station is Karvi (8 kms). Chitrakoot is well connected by road. Some road distances are : Allahabad - 125 kms, Satna-75 kms, Lucknow 285 kms, Mahoba- 127 kms, Kalinjar 88 kms, Jhansi - 274 kms.

Where to stay: Tourist Bungalow (UPT), Matushree Anadram Jaipuria, Vinod Lodge and dharamshalas.

What to see: Kamadgiri, Hanuman Dhara, Ram Ghat, Janki Kund, Sati Anusuya Ashram, Gupta Godawari.
