The shrine of
Yamunotri at the source of the river Yamuna is one of the 'four
Dhams' of Uttarakhand.
How
to Reach: Nearest airport is
Jolly Grant. Nearest railhead is at Haridwar. The road to Yamunotri
diverts at Dharasu, on way to Uttarkashi. Important road distances
are: Hanumanchatti-14 kms, Dharasu-107 kms, Tehri-149 kms,
Rishikesh-222 kms.
Where
to stay: There is a Tourist
Rest House (GMVN) at Janakichatti. Only Dharamshalas are available
at Yamunotri.
What to see:
Temple of Goddess Yamuna, Surya Kund, Divya Shila.
Excursions: Janakichatti,
Hanumanchatti, Sayanchatti.
