India insists it did not violate Pakistan airspace
NEW DELHI, May 27 (Reuters) - India insisted late on Thursday its planes had not violated
the ceasefire line between India and Pakistan before they were lost earlier in the day,
and accused Islamabad of ``provocative activities.''
Responding to Pakistan's statement that it had shot down two intruding Indian jet
fighters, an Indian foreign ministry statement said: ``There has been no violation
whatsoever of the LOC (Line of Control) by India. Our aircraft were flying on our side.''
Pakistan's provocative activities,'' the Indian statement said. ``It is Pakistan which
needs to exercise restraint...Pakistan must realise that there cannot be stable relations
in the face of its provocations.''
